I Want More Time

IMG_3311

I feel like a spoiled kid when I say I want but I can’t help it. I want more time.

I want more time to talk because my words are getting too hard to understand. This stupid disease is stripping me of being able to communicate with the people I love. Even though I knew my speech would go, I’m just not ready.

I guess I have no choice but to Trust.

  1. Hi Rosemary,

I can appreciate your heartfelt feelings wanting more time. Too many of us waste so many days because time feels endless. Your words continue to inspire me to not waste time. I have young children from my second marriage. They are 9 & 11 and I can’t get enough time with them, but you have certainly changed my views about life and what is important as we age and get closer to those pearly gates. Stay strong and know I am praying for more time for you!

  2. Aunt Rosemary

    Love Katelyn

  3. Communication is not always in what we say. Our eyes communicate, as does our heart. A touch of the hand, a smile, just a feeling one has about another can communicate much more than a hundred words. Your family and loved ones know your love and know what is in your heart without you having to say it. That comes from living with you for their whole lives. They don’t need to necessarily hear it verbally; they know it.

Although your earthly life may be limited, you have the nearness of eternal life to look forward to, Rosemary. I know I’ve said it before to you. Some may have to live long lives, including years of old age where they struggle with failing old bodies that suffer from arthritis, heart conditions, and whatever other ailments come with old age. Even though you wish you had more time, you are indeed fortunate to look forward to a nearing eternal life where there will be no pain, only happiness and joy as you look at the face of Jesus and enjoy the eternal banquet with Him. You are nearly at the gate knocking. How wonderful is that. Our earthly dwelling place is but a “valley of tears,” as stated in the Memorare.

  4. This made me think of how PTO (personal time off) at work can be “banked” and when someone is at their max they can donate it. I know everyone who reads your posts wishes they could donate a banked day or week to you Rosemary, if life allowed us to bank good health and more time, we would all donate to you.You have been such a blessing with your blog, its a reminder for us all to take those vacations, live each day to the fullest, and above all cherish every moment with family and friends. Thank you.

  5. Just know how much that you’re loved by so many people…..I don’t blame you for wanting more time……it just doesn’t seem fair at all…….Hugs girlie :)

  6. Rosemary following your blog has been like looking into the mind of my husband – why I do this I am not sure as it brings me to tears everytime I do – but they tell me that tears are good. Ed, like you has been robbed, he was out of bed two times in 2013 and now our goal for him is to make it to our first grandchild’s graduation in June. My heart and prayers are with you and your family for I know the journey that your husband is taking, I am on that same journey. I can say without a doubt that I would not trade one second with Ed and his illness and I want him here with me as long as he can handle the pain. You are an amazing lady and I thank you for giving me a glimpse of what he is feeling and can no longer express with words. When you look into the eyes of someone that you love the communication can be greater then words and it is times such as those when no words are needed.

  7. Hello, Rosemary. I just wanted to say that I’ve been reading much of your blog and staying in touch with your situation. I wish you had more time, too. This must be so hard. I have been truly inspired by your writing. Bless your heart.

  8. Rosemary, While the disease is taking away the amount of communication you can do, not many people ever attain the depth and breadth of their words the way you have. Your loved ones have the blessing of seeing your touch all around. That communication will go on and on. Much love to you friend.
